Pain and Fever Across ENT & Emergency Practice: A Practical Clinical Approach

This clinically focused educational session brings together expertise from emergency medicine and ENT surgery to address one of the most common diagnostic challenges in daily practice: the management of pain and fever.

Pain and fever remain among the most frequent presenting symptoms across emergency departments and ENT clinics, yet the underlying causes can range from self-limiting infections to life-threatening conditions. This session provides clinicians with a practical, evidence-based framework for recognising, triaging, and managing these presentations with confidence.

The programme features two complementary presentations:

ENT Infections Presenting with Pain and Fever: A Practical Approach

Delivered by Dr Abdul Razzak Shahod Juratli, this presentation explores the spectrum of ENT infections that present with pain and fever, covering tonsillitis, otitis media, sinusitis, and deep neck space infections. Attendees will gain practical insight into clinical assessment, red flag identification, appropriate antimicrobial selection, and when to escalate care to surgical intervention.

Pain and Fever in Emergency Practice: A Practical Approach to Common ER Presentations

Delivered by Dr Zoubir Boudi, this presentation addresses the emergency physician's approach to febrile patients in pain, focusing on rapid assessment frameworks, differential diagnosis, risk stratification, and evidence-based management protocols applicable to the busy emergency department setting.

Together, these presentations offer a multidisciplinary perspective that will benefit emergency physicians, ENT specialists, family medicine practitioners, paediatricians, and allied healthcare professionals managing acute infections in any clinical setting.
